Bound to Nature :  Women's Shibari Experience

Uvita, Costa Rica
April  27 - May 3 ,  2026

Find Freedom Through Shibari

6 Nights, 7 Days of Connection, Intimacy & Creation

A sacred transformational journey into the art of Shibari — where rope becomes more than knots. It becomes meditation, art, somatic exploration, and intimate connection. No experience necessary — only curiosity, openness, and the willingness to meet yourself deeply.

Over six immersive days in the jungle of Uvita, Costa Rica, you will experience Shibari as a language of trust, presence and creative expression. From the first touch of rope in your hands, this place meets you exactly where you are.

An Intimate Journey Awaits

The Shibari Experience: Bound To Nature weaves together the art of Shibari with somatic movement, sensory exploration and the raw, restorative power of nature. Each element is chosen with intention — not to fill your days, but to create the conditions for something real to surface.

You will be met exactly where you are. Whether you come carrying grief, curiosity, a hunger you can't quite name, or simply the desire to connect with the body you've been living in — there is room for all of it here.

About Me

My name is Persephone and I am a Shibari artist devoted to the art of connection through rope. My approach weaves together sensuality, somatic awareness, and spirituality — creating spaces where rope is not just technique, but a language of trust, presence, and self-discovery.

When I tie, I am drawn to the alchemy of energy between bodies: the subtle shifts in breath, the emotional landscapes that surface, the moment the nervous system softens and something true begins to speak.

My style is rooted in:

  • Connection before technique — rope as a way of communication

  • Presence & embodiment — attuning to the body’s wisdom and what it has been holding

  • Sensuality as medicine — awakening pleasure, creativity and play

  • Healing through surrender — holding space for vulnerability, release, and transformation

  • Nature as co-facilitator — the jungle, the rope, and the women around you as mirrors

For me, Shibari is an oracle — a way of asking questions through the body and receiving answers through sensation, energy, and trust.

I guide women into this art with gentleness and depth, balancing the beauty of form with the freedom of expression, always honoring the sacredness of the rope journey. It is a practice of becoming — one tie at a time.

Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival & Opening Circle

Your journey begins with a warm welcome, and time to settle into the space. We gather in our first Women’s Circle at Flo Retreat Center, setting intentions and opening ourselves to the experience.

Through Somatic Sensual Movement & Breathwork, you’ll awaken your body and tap into your sensual self. In our first Shibari Foundations & Energetics of Presence workshop, you’ll learn rope handling, safety, and consent — discovering how presence and energy create deeper connection than technique alone.

We close the evening with a cacao and fire ceremony — a heart-opening ritual to set the tone of connection, trust and intimacy.

Day 2:

Self-Exploration & Sensory Awakening

The day begins with Budokon Mobility, awakening the body, bringing strength and fluidity to the body.

Our Ichinawa Self-Tying Workshop guides you into Shibari as meditation and self-connection. You’ll learn body harnesses for upper and lower body, while exploring how rope becomes a mirror for breath, posture, and emotional awareness that highlights our inner dialogue.

Following the workshop, a Sensory Play Session deepens your connection to touch, sound, temperature, and subtle sensations, expanding your somatic awareness.

In the afternoon, we journey into nature to explore the jungle trails & waterfalls — to move, play, breathe, and surrender. The evening offers time for private Shibari sessions for deeper personal exploration.

Day 3:

Trust, Surrender & Connection

The day opens with a rope circle meditation.

In the morning, we expand to partnered Shibari experiences with Rope for Trust & Connection. This workshop introduces partner Shibari with chest, hip, and leg harnesses. You’ll learn how to attune to your nervous system, how to read body language, and use rope to provoke playful energy or deepen surrender.

In the afternoon, we gather for a Women’s Circle exploring vulnerability, empowerment, and rope dynamics through NLP-inspired practices.

The evening brings private Shibari sessions and free time, followed by a Night Jungle Exploration — an immersive ritual of mystery, nature, and trust.

Day 4:

Empowerment Through the Body

The morning begins with Budokon movement, strengthening both body and spirit.

We venture into the wild for a Shibari Adventure in Nature, tying with trees and exploring surrender among the elements. Later, playful empowerment emerges through an Introduction to Jiu Jitsu, where movement games spark strength and resilience.

The afternoon offers wellness treatments — massages, body care, or simple rest — alongside private rope sessions.

As night falls, we enter a Sensual Poetry & Rope Flow Circle — weaving words, rope, and movement into expression. This culminates in a Body Painting Ritual, where color and movement transform your body into living art.

Day 5:

Expansion & Subtle Energetics

We begin by deepening our self-tying practice with Beyond the Basics — layering harnesses, weaving rope flows for meditation and play, and exploring attachment points to play with shape, form, and tension. This practice becomes both a moving meditation and a canvas for personal expression. Afterward, you’ll have open space to explore, refine, and embody your new skills.

From there, we enter Energy Play in Rope, where Shibari reveals its depth beyond technique. You’ll learn how rope interacts with the nervous system and how neurochemistry — oxytocin, dopamine, cortisol, and adrenaline — weaves the alchemy of intimacy, healing, and surrender. Through guided techniques, we’ll explore how presence, language, and subtle shifts can transform states, enhance trust, and open space for power dynamics rooted in awareness. Drawing from NLP-inspired practices, you’ll experience how intention in rope can shift emotions, awaken sensitivity, and expand connection.

The evening culminates in a Shibari Performance — a celebration of art, energy, and creative expression. Here, the threads of the day come alive in movement, rope, and presence, offering inspiration and an embodied vision of what Shibari can become.

Day 6:

Mind, Body, Spirit Integration

The experience closes with a Self-Tying Meditation & Closing Ritual, weaving your journey into the rope with breath, reflection, and embodied intention. Together in our final Closing Ceremony, we share insights, integration, and commitments to carry forward.

Later, there will be free time for integration practices, private sessions and tour/exploration in Uvita. Last day to soak up the jungle!

Day 7:

Closing & Travel Time

A Farewell Brunch nourishes our final moments. We close the experience setting intentions with your new Shibari set — ropes and guide — to continue your practice at home, carrying the confidence, creativity, and connection that you’ve cultivated. Afterwards, there will be availability for private sessions. For those traveling, there will be a designated time to return to San Jose.
